Things I've learned

It's been a long and sometimes difficult year, so in the interest of collecting knowledge for posterity, the following are lessons I'll be taking with me into 2008.

  1. Sometimes if you wait long enough the right job comes along, but you can't sit and wait for it.
  2. Facebook is way cooler than MySpace.
  3. No matter how blasé you are about matters of life and death, when the grim reaper strikes in your family it really hurts.
  4. No matter how wide your stance is, never tap on the shoes of the guy in the next stall.
  5. It's generally better to go to a doctor than just wait for something to get better.
  6. Just because it's a lesbian wedding, don't count on it being non-traditional.
  7. You can never have too many friends, but you can occasionally have too many to keep up with.
  8. It won't go away if you keep scratching at it.
  9. It's ok to admit you liked Titanic.
  10. Just because you have a good concept for a blog, don't count on people being active participants.
